This website is associated with me – Bob Barta (founding member/leader of the Sunnyland Jazz Band – banjo & vocals). After many months, I’ve finally been able to begin an update/reboot of this website.  As time permits, I’ll be updating this site with new emergent data and old dusty archival tidbits interspersed with my own rambling inanities.

For those accidental tourists who are not already familiar with the story so far, I am an occasionally mild-mannered college professor of business – mainly IT & accounting for 30+ years – at a local community college.   I may have been subconsciously inspired as a youth by mythical heroes like Clark Kent and Peter Parker, but without arriving from another galaxy or risky exposure to irradiated arachnids.  Lacking those natural advantages, my weapon of choice was and is music – primarily 4-string banjo, but sometimes other fretted instruments.

When classes end and night falls – especially weekends – I strap on my trusty Richelieu Golden Eagle and go forth across the nation fighting to  preserve a trove of rare and memorable sonic cultural artifacts against a tidal wave of classic-rock era cover tunes & DJs at downtown clubs/bars (NTTAWWT).  Just lookin’ to “represent”, so to speak….

As the re-launched site gets going, there will be plenty more stuff to come!!
